Wild Arms Creator Celebrates Series’ 20th Anniversary After Teasing Meeting with Sony

At the end of January, Wild Arms creator Akifumi Kaneko teased a meeting with Sony about celebrating the 20th anniversary of the series. Looks like the celebrations have started, at least on Kaneko-san’s Twitter.

Yesterday he changed his Twitter header to a lovely 20th anniversary illustration that you can see at the bottom of the post, drawn by Wild Arms 5 and Wild Arms XF character designer Tomomi Sasaki. Incidentally, Kaneko-san also mentioned that this year won’t just mark the 20th anniversary of Wild Arms, but also the 10th of Wild Arms 5.

Sasaki-san joined the celebrations as well, by sharing some awesome sketches on Twitter, which you can also enjoy in the gallery.

The actual Anniversary of the release in Japan of the series will happen on December 20th. It’ll be interesting to see if Sony and the series’ creators will have something in store for the celebrations, but for now we can at least join in, and be glad that the series hasn’t been forgotten.
