Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot, announced a new update on the Assassin’s Creed series via an investor’s conference call on the 14th. According to Mr. Guillemot, “We will have an Assassin’s Creed this year…we are going to give you more details in May”. Lucky for us, he also stated that the upcoming AC game will be a “packaged title”. That’s right fans…this is a fully fledged Assassin’s Creed game, so don’t worry about it being generic. The only question is if this upcoming AC title will, in fact, be Assassin’s Creed III.
A couple of months ago, Yves Guillemot did mention 2011 will see “another big Assassin’s Creed game”. Now take into account that AC: Brotherhood was utilized by the same tech as the 2nd AC game. Thus, more time was left available for Ubisoft to work on the next project. Is it possible that the “big Assassin’s Creed game” is Assassin’s Creed III? Plus, has the time saved by Ubisoft, by utilizing the same technology for separate games, given them the full opportunity to craft an entirely new one? We will find out come this May!
