World Cyber Games 2009 – US Final – In NYC

on September 18, 2009 12:17 PM

The U.S. final for the World Cyber Games is almost upon us. Next week, Dualshockers will make the treacherous 40 minute subway ride to the Jacob Javits Convention Center to provide our readers with weekend long coverage of the event. It gets even better than that, as 2 members in the public will have the opportunity to earn a spot on TEAM USA, and compete in the GRAND FINAL in Chengdu, China! In other words: if you are in NYC the weekend of the 25th, and you think you are good at video games, then you need to get your ass to the convention center immediately. Do it for your country! Winners of the US FINAL will take home a share of $100,000 in cash and prizes, so in case you don’t want to do it for your country, do it for the prizes. Just make sure to bring your A-game as you will be competing with over 150 of  America’s best gamers. The event is being held in conjunction with the New York Anime Festival so you know that there will be plenty of funny dressed cosplay people to gawk at, if that’s not enough incentive to come down to the event I don’t know what is. Oh, and you get to hang out with the Dualshockers! In the coming days we will be interviewing a couple of the Elite participants for the event so check back for updates, that way you can get a feel of the competition. Hit the jump to check out the complete event schedule for the weekend.
