Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to dive with a great white shark or to see sea-life up close and personal without the danger it entails? Well now you can…somewhat. With seventeen days left to raise roughly sixty thousand dollars to reach their goal, the folks at Vertigo Games have released their first gameplay teaser of the Oculus Rift-enabled online multiplayer diving videogame World of Diving, and it will have you in awe.

In the trailer we are treated to all kinds of cool underwater life and activities such as, virtual fish, flora and fathoms of the ocean. We see the wreckage of the HMS Montello, ancient artifacts that we must retrieve and just about the most amazing virtual feature, underwater flares used scare away sharks. World of Diving will also include underwater communication, which stays true to realistic diving and plays an important role in the game’s multiplayer feature.

While the game is still a work in progress, if you like or don’t like what you see, Vertigo Games is open to hear your opinions and suggestions. They are currently collecting feedback and responses from the community to help direct the overall development of videogame. If you really like what you see, you can contribute to their Indiegogo campaign page.

If they reach their goal World of Diving will release on PC in early 2014
