World of Final Fantasy’s New Screenshots Show Shantotto and Opposite Gender Summons on Famitsu

Today’s issue of Weekly Famitsu included a brand new batch of screenshots about the upcoming PS4 and PS Vita JRPG World of Final Fantasy, releasing in North America on October 25th.

First of all, fan favorite and hilariously sadistic Shantotto from Final Fantasy XI will appear in the game, but perhaps more interrestingly, the game introduces summons with opposite genders compared to the originals, and explicitly mentions familial ties between them.

Ramyu is Ramuh’s granddaughter, and she carries a magitek machine on her back. Her hair changes color when she fights. Shiva is a male of the Shiva family, who often acts according to his own sense of justice. While he controls powerful ice energy, he’s a little narcissistic. Ifreeta (which we already saw in a livestream) is a female of Ifrit’s family, and she decided on her own that she’s in charge.

Check them out below, keeping in mind that they are magazine scans, so the quality isn’t comparable to direct feed screenshots.
