World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor Will Feature Improved Healing Mechanics and Gameplay, Trailer Highlighting the Level 90 Character Boost Released

Warlords of Draenor, World of Warcraft’s upcoming expansion will feature improved healing mechanics and gameplay.

As explained in a recent development blog, Blizzard plans on increasing players health, as well as reducing critical damage and critical heals against players in PvP by 50%.

As a result individual attacks will cause minimal damage to a player’s health in PvP, however survivability in PvE will not be affected.

Holy Light and Healing Wave will be removed, while other spells like the Greater Healing Wave, will be renamed.

We think that while they do add complexity, they don’t truly add depth to healing gameplay. However, we still want healers to think about their mana when deciding which heal to cast, and so the mana costs and throughputs of many spells are being altered to give players a choice between spells with lower throughput and lower cost versus spells with higher throughput and higher costs.

In addition to this, Blizzard has released a new trailer entitled “Wish You Were Here,” highlighting the level 90 character boost included with the expansion pack.

The expansion will enable players to raise one character up to level 90 instantaneously. The character will then get a set of level-appropriate gear.

The level 90 character boosts can be purchased separately for $60 for those who want to upgrade multiple characters.

World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor expansion will release March 25th for PC.
