Wargaming announced today a new game mode that will be coming to World of Tanks. Dubbed 'Frontline', the new game mode made in conjunction with Bongfish, will feature massive 30v30 tank battles across huge maps with an attack and defend objective. Initially the game mode will be available in the game's test server 'Sandbox', where it is currently available to play right now. Alongside the announcement, we also received a new developer diary which goes into more detail on 'Frontline'. The new developer diary can be seen below.

Milos Jerabek, World of Tanks Development Director had this to say regarding the new game mode:

“Players have been asking us for larger teams, bigger maps, and new combat setups for some time. Wargaming’s distributed development approach made this a reality and we partnered with Bongfish to create the new mode—all while the in-house team for World of Tanks works on the game’s key mechanics. Bongfish has a ton of expertise to make it happen under our guidance. There’s true chemistry between the both of us, and we look forward to revealing what this collaboration brings to players.”

Michael Putz, Bongfish Founder and CEO spoke on working with Wargaming on the new game mode:

“We’ve been working on Frontline for a while now, and are excited to finally show it to the world. We’re passionate about authentic gameplay and vast open spaces, and so are World of Tanks developers. By working with them, we can channel this passion to create something one of a kind for tankers to enjoy.”

The new game mode is currently available on 'Sandbox', the game's test server. World of Tanks is currently available as a free-to-play title on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
