Xbox Live Gold Free for Certain Regions This Weekend, US Gets Free Entertainment

on May 31, 2012 10:30 AM

Running from this Friday June 1st through Sunday June 3rd, Xbox Live Gold will be free for players in the U.S., Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia and Chile giving open access to play games online. What better excuse to play games with friends do you need? In addition US Xbox Live members will have free access to the Amazon Instant Video, IGN, Manga Entertainment and MUZU.TV apps so even if you don’t have any online games you’ll have something to do!

These events seem to be popping up more frequently and appear to keep focusing on the entertainment aspect of Xbox Live, perhaps there’s some merit to the rumors of some kind of update to the service overall at E3? I guess we’ll know before too long!

John is what you might call something of a badass. When he's not writing about games or playing them, he's playing in the Kansas City band "Documentary" and drinking as many different beers as often as he can. He's a huge comic nerd in the best sense of the term, with a particular love for the Creator Owned movement.
