Xbox Live is currently suffering from a partial outage, blocking many users from using its social features like friend lists and parties. Even the Xbox.com website appears inaccessible at the moment of this writing.

Looking at the data displayed by DownDetector, the outage definitely seems widespread. Unfortunately it’s only the latest of many such outages that affected both Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network in the past few months.

We’ll keep you updated when the situation changes.

Update: the Xbox.com website is partially available now, but some of its links are still down, and the social services on Xbox Live are still unavailable.
