Xbox One Overtakes PS4 On Amazon’s Best Sellers List, Is Now Ranked First

Xbox One just scored its first prominent “victory” in the ranking wars for preorders in the United States. The day one version of Microsoft’s upcoming console just overtook the PS4 in the best sellers list on Amazon.com.

Of course this doesn’t really mean that the Xbox One is being preordered more than the PS4. The launch edition of Sony’s console has been sold out for a while, prompting the retailer to offer four separate launch day bundles on top of the standard edition that is now ranked second. The additional PS4 bundles are instead ranked 4th, 5th, 7th and 38th.

It’s most probable that, considering the total of the six different options combined, the PS4 preorders still solidly outnumber the single Xbox One option, but unfortunately we have no firm data to confirm or deny that. At the very least, this muddles slightly the rather one-sided results presented in the analysis I posted yesterday.

Many would call this a Pyrrhic victory, but in the rather negative scenario surrounding Microsoft’s console, every little bit helps…
