Quite a few retailers have listed the release date of the Xbox One S 2TB option for August 2nd, but Microsoft has always remained coy on whether that date was the official release date.

Today they officially confirmed that the release will indeed happen on August 2nd, but only in select countries.

"Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK and United States."

The price will be the already announced $399, and the console will release in additional markets later this year.

Release dates for the other two hard disk drive options (1TB and 500 GB) are still unknown, and will be revealed at a later date.
