XCOM: Enemy Unknown Gets a Multiplayer Mode

Looks like even turn-based strategy games can’t do without a multiplater mode nowadays. 2K Games and Firaxis just announced that the upcoming XCOM: Enemy Unknown will support multiplayer battles.

Players will be able to select their squad (of up to six units) using a point system, involving either humans or aliens, or creating an allied mix of both, and then will be pitched against another player.

Dozens of armor and weapon types will be available to customize our squad further, and during the game the fog of war will keep it hidden from the opponent just like in single player.

Luckily the multiplayer mode will have no strings attached with the single player game, which means that there won’t be any changes in the story to accommodate it.
