During the presentation of the Nintendo Switch from Tokyo, Nintendo announced that the console will get a new Xenoblade game, aptly titled in Japan Xenoblade 2, while it will be released in the west as Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

Character design will be handled by Masatsugu Saito (Expelled From Paradise) and Yasunori Mitsuda (Xenogears) will be at the helm of the soundtrack, alongside ACE (Tomoki Kudo, CHiCO), Kenji Hiramatsu and Manami Kiyota.

Of course development will be handled by Monolith Soft, and Xeno meta-series director Tetsuya Takahashi will return as Executive Director.

Without a doubt, this is the best announcement of the evening so far, at least for me (but I’m quite sure that I’m not alone in this, am I?)

The game doesn’t have an announced release date (Update: The game is confirmed for 2017), but got a trailer, which you can check out below.
