Yakuza 4 Heading West in 2011

Sega once said that the fate of the Yakuza franchise in the West relied on how well Yakuza 3 sold over in these parts. Apparently it must have met or exceeded their expectations, because they’re bringing the fourth entry in the series over here next year, again exclusively on the PS3. Yes, spring 2011, that is just shy of a year from now. What takes them so long to localize these particular games is anyone’s guess. Perhaps Sega’s localization guys are spending too much time hanging around with the Sony/Level 5 localization guys, considering White Knight Chronicles took a similar amount of time to come West.

But, let’s keep the glass half full, shall we? We’re actually getting Yakuza 4! Perhaps by then I will have played Yakuza 3, which I’ve had on the table staring at me for quite some time. If we’re lucky, we’ll hear more details about this at E3. Be nice to us, Sega!
