At PlayStation Experience, Sega and Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will come to North America and Europe in early 2018. Unfortunately, that's a long wait, but if you want a good look at the game's beginning, you can get that now, since the Japanese version was released on December 8th.

Below you can check out the first eighty minutes of the game, recorded directly from PS4 Pro at 1080p, and about 240 screenshots. Of course, spoilers are included, even if they're mitigated by not knowing Japanese. That said, I would certainly advise against watching the video if you have not played Yakuza 5 yet, because Yakuza 6 picks up right after and will spoil the ending for you.

Incidentally, if you know the Yakuza series, you won't be surprised by the fact that I didn't mention eighty minutes of gameplay. The series has always been cutscene-heavy, and this is no exception. Among the eighty minutes below, about sixty are (gorgeous) cinematics.

While we'll have to wait long for this game, Yakuza 0 will be released in the west on January January 24th, 2017, and Yakuza Kiwami (the full remake of the original Yakuza) will come next summer.

If you want to see more of what this game offers, you can watch the included version of Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown and the alluring (and hilarious) "live chat" minigame.
