In a press release sent today, the Japanese arm of Sega made a quite promising statement about the upcoming Yakuza 6 (Ryu Ga Gotoku 6), that will be released in Japan in fall 2016.

The publisher wants gamers to experience the new evolution of the Yakuza series, that has been achieved by developing exclusively for the PS4.

After ten years since the first chapter released in 2015, Sega intends to continue to challenge the limit of games. That's why the Yakuza series has gone through an extensive evolution, and kept creating new challenges with every game. Customers are encouraged to look forward to Yakuza: Kiwami and Yakuza 6, which are the "extreme" ("kiwami" in Japanese) of entertainment for grown ups.

Considering how previous cross-generation games of the series have suffered a bit from releasing on PS3 as well, I can't say I'm not eager to see what Sega will manage to do with Yakuza 6, that will make the jump to PS4 exclusive.
