After coming off of a stellar 2013 for the 3DS, Nintendo is set to make 2014 another great year for its handheld with its upcoming slate of exclusive titles, including the announcement for the release date of Yoshi’s own portable adventure.

Nintendo announced in an official press release that Yoshi’s New Island, a sequel to Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, will be launching for 3DS on March 14th, 2014, with the game being available both in retail and digitally in the Nintendo 3DS eShop.

The game will be produced by Takashi Tezuka, Creative Director for the original Yoshi’s Island released on SNES, and will once again feature Yoshi in a standalone adventure featuring his companion, Baby Mario, with Yoshi’s New Island also promising “new actions that use the unique features of Nintendo 3DS.”

Yoshi’s New Island releases for 3DS on March 14th, 2014.
