Yoshi’s Woolly World will release on July 16 in Japan. Meanwhile a North American release date remains elusive. The game will feature over 50 different color types of Yoshi, with Nintendo showing off a Famicom, Rainbow, and Winter Yoshi. Additionally there will be special beads that are scarce but when you collect enough of them will offer a special power badge for later use. When you use a non-Yoshi Amiibo with the game, you will unlock that character’s Yoshi skin. The Amiibo used as an example were Mario, Link, and Donkey Kong.

Yoshi’s Woolly World will cost 5,700 yen, the Amiibo bundle is 7,000 yen, and Amiibos by themselves are 1,800 yen. This information comes by way of this morning’s Nintendo Direct which was focused on Nintendo’s upcoming Japan releases. You can view the Direct below, with Yoshi’s Woolly World showing up at the 20:31 mark.
