Square Enix just released a few details about the upcoming Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, that will be released in Japan on November the 21st, while North American gamers will have to wait next year on February the 11th.

We learn that by spending Glory Points Lightning will be able to stop the flow of time in quests that have a time limit, allowing the player to continue with more ease. This is called "Chronostasis", but it's worth nothing that the effect will end when riding the train or sleeping at the inn.

We also get some info on a mission that Lightning will have to complete during the game: she will be tasked with protecting the village of the moogles by a horde of rampaging dryads that seem to be fond of preying on the cute creatures.

Below you can see four screenshots showing a timed quest, the Chronostasis effect in action and the mission to defeat the dryads mentioned above.
