Pre-orders are already opening up for a few Christmas-related figures, but aside from that, it's a slow week for figures and toys, unless you're really into bad body pillows and papercrafts of obscure anime.

Luckily, there is one shining star this week: a very nice Atelier Totori figure from Phat Company.

Hit the jump for more on that and your Unnecessary Accessory of the Week.

Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland - Totori Complete Figure

  • Manufacturer: Phat Company
  • Series: Atelier
  • Price: 7,190 Yen/$93.60
  • Release Window: late April, 2012

It's really good to see an excellent piece like this after not seeing much Atelier merch going around for a while. Totori's design is captured magnificently, down to small details on the clothing, and the base is equally rich, covered in blankets, potions, and alchemy ingredients. The Atelier games have always had great art, and it pleases me to see a figure-maker capture that so well. Excellent job, Phat Company.

And this week's Unnecessary Accessory award goes to...

Untouchable Hironari Yamazaki Strap BOX

...Actually, I'd probably buy this. I don't even get the reference (though John Colaw thinks it's Japanese Ricky Gervais), but I'm down for hanging one of these off of my cellphone.

And by "one of these", I mean all of them. At once.
