Zero Escape 3 May Not be Released Anytime Soon, According to Game Director

Game Director Kotaro Uchikoshi of Zero Escape series fame has made a surprising announcement on Twitter–there will not be a Zero Escape 3 coming out anytime soon:

According to Uchikoshi, the managers made this decision because both 999 and Virture’s Last Reward are currently in the red in sale for Japan. However, he still has encouraging words for fans of the franchise:

Uchikoshi even gave out his Facebook account for that sole purpose, and so far it seems to have been flooded with encouraging messages according to his more recent Twitter posts. Hopefully his next game can be funded, as it would be a shame to see such an excellent series be discontinued.
