Jaws: Ultimate Predator Makes Aquatic Terror Fun for the Family (At Least For Everyone Over 17)

Will it ever be safe to go back in the water? Well, at least in Majesco’s upcoming Jaws: Ultimate Predator, you get to be the hunter instead of the hunted. Players take control of a Great White Shark hell-bent on destroying maritime peace in this M-rated title for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii, all the while proving that, yes, gratuitous acts of underwater violence have a place on Nintendo platforms.

From what we can see in the trailer after the jump, what this title lacks in realistic physics — just look at how those boats bounce around the water as though they’re made of plastic — it may make up for in shark-driven mayhem. Ecco pulled it off, why can’t a man-eating shak?

I was always a little disturbed by how Quint, the quintessential — pun intended — shark-hunting badass from the 1975 Spielberg classic practically leapt into the Great White’s open maw. But hunting a miniature Robert Shaw would definitely be an entertaining distraction. Fingers crossed here.
