Tecmo Koei has announced that it expects big sales for Dead or Alive 5. They plan for the game to sell at least one million copies globally. I wouldn't exactly call that a lofty sales goal, especially considering that both of the last numbered DOA games cleared sales of one million even though they were exclusive to Microsoft's consoles. That said, it definitely is a lofty goal, because times have changed and only the biggest and brightest fighting games achieve sales like that.

Still, it shouldn't be too difficult for a game this hyped and long awaited to clear one million units across both HD consoles, but maybe I'm looking at things the wrong way. Tecmo also promises to support DOA5 post-launch with premium DLC content. Knowing the series, this will most likely consist of new costumes, but this is just a guess. Maybe they'll surprise us.

Hopefully they'll release a good amount of free DLC too, like they did with Dead or Alive: Dimensions and Ninja Gaiden 3. Dead or Alive 5 will be available worldwide this September.
