Microsoft's Windows 8 Operating System seems to be gaining in popularity among Steam users.

According to the latest Steam Hardware & Software Survey, users are rapidly making the move to Microsoft's latest OS. 10.65% of Steam users have Windows 8 64-bit installed and 8.54% of users have Windows 8.1 64-bit installed. The users of the 32 bit versions come in at 0.57% and 0.30% respectively.

Why are PC gamers adopting to Windows 8 like this? It probably has to do with the fact that the 64-bit OS has the ability to use more than 4-GB of RAM. This is a must if you're playing a lot of the modern, graphically heavy PC games.
