2084 is a new title from Feardemic —a wholly owned subsidiary of Bloober Team— that will be launching into Steam Early Access later this month after being created through a 72-hour internal game jam. It has been created by some developers who were behind Layers of Fear and Observer, both developed by Bloober Team.

We've heard that Bloober Team are "devoted to psychological horror games" and back in October saw Layers of Fear 2 announced in a trailer. otherwise known as Project Méliès.

The creepy announcement teaser below shows off a very surreal setting, with what looks to be the protagonist's silhouette opening the video. After that we see what appears to be gameplay, showing off a sneak peek at the UI offering health, ammo, and stamina, and then we're transitioned to a "patient" with a giant TV for a head. There's also a giant surgeon looking chap that kills the player and introduces the title card reading, 2084.

Players are set to a post-apocalyptic labyrinth that challenges them to kill enemies while engaged in combat while also trying to utilize a range of "computer hacking commands on the fly." Players can also expect to find themselves with plot twists adding more to the fast-paced shooter.

While the teaser only shows us a small, fast-paced look at 2084 there are some screenshots below that seem to show off the cyberpunk-esque world some more. One of those images seems to show off a hacking mechanic in action, while other screenshots are showing off the high-quality, but also an eerie world.

2084 will be heading to Steam Early Access on December 13 for PC.
