After being unveiled earlier this week, Blackfire Games’ has officially launched the Kickstarter campaign for its new game Unformed.
For those unaware, Unformed is a metroidvania style game inspired by a mixture of Chinese folklore and H.P. Lovecraft, with a combat style similar to one found in the Souls series.
The campaign is set to last thirty days, with the main goal being $20,000. The developer stated that not only will the funds will be used to complete the yet unfinished game, but that every single backer will receive some kind of reward in return, no matter how small a donation.
In addition to the main goal, there are two stretch goals for the project as well:
- $30,000: Expanded world
- $50,000: New hero, and animated cutscenes

Additionally, today at 11:00 a.m. PDT (2:00 p.m. EDT) the developer will be hosting a livestream for the title. During the stream, viewers will be able to submit questions about the game. You can view the stream on the Kickstarter page.
Unformed will launch on PC sometime in this summer, with PS4 and Xbox One versions coming later this year. The developer has also said that it would like to make PS Vita, 3DS, and Nintendo Switch versions of the game, but at the moment it remains undecided.
