2K Games and Valve announced today that all PC versions of Sid Meier's Civilization V will be loaded with many of Steamwork’s features and offer a special Digital Deluxe Edition via Steam. What?!? You have no idea what Steam is, well put down Call of Duty for a second and let me tell you.

Steam is a must have for any PC gamer and has been around since the days of Counter Strike (ok, you all should know what that is!) It supports instant updates on PC games, chatting and game downloads. The best part of Steam is the development community supports any player who creates MOD’s to have the same social network abilities as a professional game. Back to the news!

So, gamers who pre-order Sid Meier's Civilization V will receive special downloadable content including Cradle of Civilization Map Pack: Mesopotamia (for free when the game is available), a new conquest featuring the Babylonian civilization and their ruler Nebuchadnezzar II, a behind the scenes video and the games soundtrack. Also 2K Games is offering a Steam-wide sale on all previous Civilization titles beginning today.

Sounds like a great deal, and defiantly more interesting then and history class (take that public schools)!
