It's widely expected that Microsoft will release Halo 5: Guardians for the Xbox One later this year, though we've no solid release date as of yet, though it has been rumored to be releasing this November.

It's a long way away and the next big event where we're most likely to get a big information blow out is E3 2015, an event that 343 Industries' Bonnie Ross is particularly excited about.

Speaking as part of the PancakePow podcast, Bonnie Ross expressed her excitement for Halo 5.

Obviously E3 is going to be big for us with Halo 5 and learning more about Halo 5. I'm incredibly excited about where we're going with Halo 5 and I hope that fans will be too.

Late last year Microsoft and 343 Industries announced that Halo 3: ODST will be releasing on the Xbox One in an updated form, something that neither firm had originally planned, but thanks to player demand it's coming to Xbox One soon.

We did not plan on putting ODST out, I mean, I love ODST but we didn't plan on putting it out because we're pretty deliberate on the journey - the Master Chief's journey -, leading up to Halo 5. When we looked at what people were asking for and what they would love to have, ODST was on the top of list so that why we're doing it, but we had no plans to do it prior to that.

Halo 3: ODST will be released as a free download content later this year for owners of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Roll on E3 2015!
