3DS Exclusive JRPG Monster Hunter Stories Gets Release Date, New Trailer and Tons of Screenshots

Today Capcom announced the Japanese released date of the upcoming JRPG spin-off of the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Stories.

The game will release in the archipelago of the rising sun on October 8th, exclusively for 3DS. Pre-orders will be available starting on June 2nd.

We also get a ton of screenshots and a new trailer, that you can see at the bottom of the post. Among other things, we can see the box art and key art, gameplay, the pre-order bonuses at various Japanese retailers (and yes, they come with little flags with the retailer’s logo), the ability to ride monsters, the battle system, PvP battles against other players, and more.

On top of that, three amiibo will be launched representing three different Otomon (the monsters that can become the protagonist’s companions).

Last, but not least, an anime series titled Monster Hunter Stories: Ride On has also been announced, and you can see a few images in a separate gallery. Broadcasting will start in October in Japan.
