Sony Corporation posted its latest financials today, and among them is the usual update on how many PS4 units were shipped in the past fiscal quarter.
The company shipped 4 million units in the period between July 1st and September 31st.
Sony’s overall numbers were in the black, both for the fiscal quarter and for the first half of the year, identifying an “significant” increase in PS4 software sales as the primary factor offsetting less than stellar performance in the mobile communications and financial services segments.
The company’s Game and Network Services segment, that includes PlayStation, predictably posted very solid numbers on its own.
While the overall forecast for the whole fiscal year remained the same, the one for the game and network division was raised, with the prediction of PS4 shipments for the full year raised to 17.5 million from the previous 16.5.
