Remakes and remasters often come with the “cash grab” stigma, especially from the many that don’t seem to understand that the money they earn gets re-invested in making new games. Yet, there are some that are simply beyond reproach. Yakuza: Kiwami seems to be part of this group.
Sega took a PS2 game (the original Yakuza) with an engine as old as the dinosaurs, redid it all in the much newer Yakuza: Zero engine, added a ton of new contents and features, and is giving us what looks like an entirely new game, with the same story. If you don’t find that awesome, I’m taking your gamer card.
Today Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong released the video of a local event, with 40 sweet minutes of gameplay, giving us another glimpse on the fact that one of the best games of two generations ago has been completely resurrected on PS4 (and PS3).
