Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Gets 4K PS4 Pro Support

Today, Ubisoft revealed via Assassin’s Creed Syndicate patch notes for update 1.5 that 4K support for the PS4 Pro version of the game has been been added. The news comes as a bit of a surprise, as Ubisoft hadn’t announced the Victorian-era game would receive such an update, but beyond adding 4K support, a detailed rundown of what’s actually improved is not available.

At the moment there is no official word on whether the game running via PS4 Pro looks better on a 1080p TV, however, some screens and reports have come in suggesting the game looks no different.

Syndicate joins The Ezio Collection as Assassin’s Creed games with PS4 Pro support, but like Syndicate, The Ezio Collection had no specific improvement details outlined beyond that “4K dynamic rendering” was added.

As of right now reports from NeoGAF user Blackthorn — who is the one who first discovered the new patch notes — Assassin’s Creed Syndicate on the Pro hardly runs any better. Beyond just a HUD resolution, it appears nothing has been improved, in fact the game appears to be running at 900p. However, this is just one report. Whether this problem is ubiquitous, it’s hard to say.
