7-Eleven Japan Helps Celebrate Mario's Birthday

So earlier this month, the most iconic character in video gaming turned twenty five years old. While it wasn’t much of holiday here in the states, Japan is showing fans some serious Super Mario love.

Earlier this week, Nintendo unveiled a special Mario collection for the Wii, including Super Mario All-Stars, a soundtrack, never before revealed drawings from legendary creator Shigeru Miyamoto and premium packaging. It releases on October 21st.

The sweetest item from the festivity has to be the themed DSI. A striking candy apple red, the handheld features decorations of Mario himself as well as some other memorable characters. Available exclusively at Japanese 7-Eleven stores, it releases on October 28th. Happy Birthday Mario.
