Spiritual successor is an odd term, no? It refers to something that is akin to and synonymous with something else, but not altogether a sequel or new entry into any defined series. Developer Chunsoft have revealed that they’re working on a spiritual successor to their critical bombshell 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, and that the title is planned to hit the Nintendo 3DS, as well as the PlayStation Vita. Hopefully they’ll work with Aksys again for publishing. More details will be available on the game, which is named Gyokugen Dasshutsu Adv: Zennin Shiboudes by the way, in this week’s issue of Famitsu. No release details have been given.
