The PC strategy game based on the bestselling “A Song of Ice and Fire” series, A Game of Thrones – Genesis, has debuted its official trailer and my is it epic. Slated for release on PC, the game features a single-player campaign written under the supervision of George R.R. Martin himself, resulting in a game that is faithful to the world depicted in the original novels.
Gensis brings the player through over 1000 years of history leading up to the founding of Westeros. The game’s dozens of quests include orchestrating assassinations of rival lords, taking over trade routes, recruiting spies, and kidnappings; in your down time you can try your hand at treason and espionage. Players have the choice to either raise an army to fight in their name or complete the game without military force by utilizing what developer Cyanide Studio calls “all the low blows the game allows you to use.” Whether they’re referencing physical attacks or treachery and backstabbing is unclear, but whatever it is it sounds positively maniacal and tantalizing.
A Game of Thrones – Gensis, published by Focus Home Interactive and developed by Cyanide Studio, will be available on September 29 for PC online and in retails stores. The trailer can be watched here.
