The latest Nintendo Direct revealed that Kazuya Mishima from the Tekken series is joining the ever-expanding roster of the Nintendo mascot fighting game, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Now, as is tradition whenever a new Smash Bros. fighter is revealed, a special deep-dive presentation is incoming.

The presentation will air on June 28, at 7AM PT, 10AM ET or 3PM BST. Nintendo has confirmed that the presentation will be roughly 40 minutes long, which should give us a meaty look at the latest character to join the roster. As always, the presentation will be hosted by game designer Masahiro Sakurai, who will walk us through the new characters move set and fighting abilities, and no doubt show us some special moves that advanced players will be able to pull off.

It’s almost certain that we’ll also get a release date for Kazuya joining the Smash family, as there’s never a particularly long gap between a new Smash character being announced to their release. You can watch the presentation on Nintendo’s YouTube channel or on the Nintendo website.

Who Is Kazuya Mishima?

Kazuya Mishima is a popular and central character from the Tekken franchise of fighting games, developed by Bandai Namco. He has been fighting with other members of the Mishima family since the release of the original Tekken in 1994.

What Do We Know So Far About Kizuya?

Nintendo’s E3 Direct aired earlier this month, and saw the announcement of Kazuya, as well as showcasing a small glimpse at the characters move set and special Tekken stage. It also poked fun at Kazuya’s habit of throwing people into volcanoes or off mountains.

What Else Will We See?

Whilst it’s unlikely we’ll see any huge surprises from this presentation, Nintendo does tend to provide updates on other content coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate during these presentations, including any substantial new updates and balancing patches for the game, as well as new DLC content like further costumes for the Mii Fighters.

There is one more fighter to be revealed for Nintendo’s Fighter Pass Vol. 2 for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but we definitely won’t be seeing any teases for that character here. Nintendo pretty much always saves those reveals for main Nintendo Directs, so it will probably be a few months before we hear anything else about that. If you’ve already purchased the Fighter Pass Vol. 2, Kazuya will be free to download when available, but you can also purchase him separately from the Nintendo eshop.
