A New Mortal Kombat Could be On the Way

Mortal Kombat Producer Lance Sloane has practically confirmed the development of a new title in the famed Mortal Kombat series in a recent interview with GamerHub.TV. Laune was asked about the current status of a new Mortal Kombat movie (as if we really need another of those), to which he responded:

Well, we’ve been in greenlight committee for a while at the studio. We’ve got a great script. And we’ve got a great director with Kevin Tancharoen. Who is on board. It’s just figuring out the business side of it and when we would do it and when we would launch it and how do we sync up with the launch of the game that they’re working on now, the next game.

I don’t think anyone would be surprised by a new MK game, given the success of the series’ most recent installment, though I’m somewhat concerned about this new movie I’m hearing about. I hope Mortal Kombat Trilogy‘s Khameleon makes a comeback in the next game. Which characters or features would you like to see in a new MK?
