A New Trailer and Screenshots Galore for Halo: Spartan Assault Released Today

Today Microsoft has released a new trailer and screenshots for their latest Halo series game, Halo: Spartan Assault, for Windows 8 and Windows 8 phones. Halo: Spartan Assault is being developed by 343 Industries and Vanguard Entertainment.

According to the trailer, the player controls a Spartan unit and fights off hordes of enemies using a variety of weapons while exploring a new world. Unlike most Halo titles, Halo: Spartan Assault is a top-down Third person shooter, which is a style and point of view that works better with the touch screens you’ll be using to play the game.

Other then the perspective, I haven’t seen anything in the trailer and screenshots that really sets Halo: Spartan Assault apart from the other Halo games so far. Maybe later information can shine a light on a unique story and gameplay features. You can see the game for yourself by viewing the trailer and screenshots below.
