A Way Out released on 23 March last year to the delight of couch co-op players everywhere - allowing them to finally sink their teeth into some original co-operative gameplay. Thankfully, the title was a huge success reaching over one million copies sold within a month of hitting the shelves so you can imagine the sense of pride the devs at Hazelight studios are feeling right now as A Way Out hits a significant sales milestone of two million copies sold today.

Hazelight Studios took to Twitter to highlight their joy at obtaining this fantastic figure for their unique co-op focused title that allows only one player to own a copy of the game to play in co-op mode. In the tweet, the studio thanked their many fans for helping them to get to where they are whilst also giving us a little tidbit at their next upcoming project and assuring fans that they will love it.

Last year, Josef Fares, the creative lead of A Way Out, confirmed that the studio's follow-up title will also be published by EA. In a conversation with Eurogamer, Fares states “Yeah, we’re with EA. It’s no problem. It’s super-good support. I don’t care what publisher I work with it’s going to be the same. This is how I work: I respect the economical aspect but nobody f***s with the vision – it’s very, very important. And they know it at EA now, and they’re super-supportive – super-supportive.”

Unfortunately, nothing like a release date or any other details were included in the tweet but hopefully, we will hear more about Hazelight's next game soon.  A Way Out is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. For more on the game, you can check out our review.
