Ace Combat 5 and Ridge Racer Type 4 Triumph on Bandai Namco Producer’s Remake Polls

A week ago, Ace Combat 7 Producer Kazutoki Kono launched two polls on Twitter, asking which chapters of the Ace Combat and Ridge Racer franchises fans would like to see remade on modern hardware.

Today we get to see who won, as the polls have expired.

The poll for Ace Combat saw Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War triumph, followed by even support for Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies and Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere.

The poll for Ridge Racer was even more one-sided, with R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 basically obliterating the competition.

The results fall close to home for Kono-san, who worked on Ace Combat 5 as Game Director, and on Ridge Racer Type 4 as Art Director.

Of course, this does not mean that the poll has an official nature, and that Bandai Namco is surely going to remake the games that won, but it’s nice to know that someone who has the power to influence this kind of the decision in interested about it.

One thing is for sure. I’d jump to the chance of playing a remake of Ace Combat 5 every day of the week, and twice on Sundays.
