Bandai Namco published new details today on the multiplayer modes in Ace Combat 7.

There are two online modes, Battle Royale, and Team Deathmatch. Both are exactly what they're called. Battle Royale has 8 players confronting each other,  getting points by damaging or shooting down others. The victor is the player who first reaches a certain number of points, or the one with the most points when time runs out. Team Deathmatch follows the same rules but in a 4 vs 4 players match.

During a match, players with the highest scores can be easily spotted as they'll get star marks. A player can get up to three-star marks. Shooting down good players with star marks brings in more points. In Team Deathmatch, you can use this to your advantage to create bait strategies with your teammates.

Environmental hazards such as lightning, strong winds and the like, which you can experience in Campaign Mode, are present in multiplayer as well.

Like in Campaign Mode, you can customize your planes in Multiplayer and equip strengthening parts on them. Some parts are exclusive to multiplayer. Lastly, as you clear the game's solo campaign, you'll unlock new skins and emblems to use in Campaign Mode. In Multiplayer, however, you can use those from the start.

Screenshots showing both modes and customization are included below. Multiple trailers showing the game's airplanes have been released these past days, and more are coming until the game's release.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will be available on January 18, 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PC version will follow a few days later on February 1.
