During Activision Blizzard’s quarterly financial conference call for investors and analysts, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg talked about the impending release of Call of Duty: Black Ops III.
“We couldn’t be more excited about the launch this Friday. The strong momentum is indicated by a number of factors, but just to name a few, the growing engagement across the past Black Ops titles, the significant year on year lift in pre-orders, consumer sentiment around our marketing assets, which is more positive for Black Ops III than any Call of Duty title on record. The great partnrship with Sony across consumer, trade and custom PS4 bundles, and our ranking as Nielsen’s number one most anticipated game title of the year.
Even more importantly, we’ve got the game, and it’s simply awesome. With innovations across single player, multiplayer, and of course, zombies, Black Ops III has more content, more surprises packed inside than any game we’ve made to date.”
Looks like Black Ops III has plenty wind in its sails this year. It’ll be interesting to see if the franchise will perform as well as Activision expects. I surely had more fun with the beta then I did with a CoD title in a long time.
