During Activision Blizzard’s financial conference call related to the quarter ended on September 30th, the company shared its expectations about the upcoming sequel of Destiny, which is currently being developed at Bungie.

“Activision, and our talented partners at Bungie, are hard at work on the sequel to Destiny, that should energize both Destiny’s passionate fan base and bring millions of new fans to the franchise next year.”

Destiny just received the Rise of Iron expansion on September 20th, and today Activision shared that it brought an increase in monthly active users quarter-over-quarter, even if no further details were provided.

While the name “Destiny 2” hasn’t yet been officially announced, it was mentioned during an earlier financial conference call, but we still don’t know whether it’ll be the final title of the game or not.
