Adam Sandler's Video Game-Inspired Film, Pixels, Heads to Theaters in May 2015

Video game films both inspired by an directly adapted from popular game series haven’t been in short supply as of late, but there’s always room for a few that try to break the mold, and Adam Sandler’s latest project may try to do so.

Reports detail that the upcoming film Pixels will be released on May 15, 2015, following its original target window of Summer 2015, with the film being inspired by an original YouTube short and focusing on classic 8-bit gaming, featuring characters like Frogger and (potentially) numerous others coming to life.

Pixels opens on May 15, 2015, and will be directed by Chris Columbus (Home AloneHarry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone), featuring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Peter Dinklage, Josh Gad, and Michelle Monaghan.
