FreezeMe is to be released on the Nintendo Wii U as announced by a new video from the developer on Youtube.
The game, which has been in development since 2012, is a 3D platformer that has been designed specifically to resemble the good ol’ days of colorful gaming from the Nintendo 64 era, so if you’re having flashbacks of Super Mario 64, don’t be alarmed, it’s natural.
FreezeMe features an interesting premise in that the character, simply named ‘R,’ can freeze time for a short while to cause enemies to come to a stand still, opening up new gameplay situations, according to the Spanish developer.
Originally announced for the PC platform, it’s a bit of a surprise to learn that the adorable platformer will be released on the Wii U, though given its nature it seems like the most fitting place for it and more games are always welcome on the console.
You’ll soon be able to back FreezeMe on Kickstarter once the campaign goes live. At the time of writing, the developers are still preparing their Kickstarter campaign, so stay tuned and we’ll keep you updated. If you’re really interested in supporting FreezeMe on Kickstarter, the developer has teased a couple of the rewards over on Facebook.
FreezeMe has a tentative release date of summer 2015 and by the power of Greyskull, I for one will be devouring this bad boy up without hesitation.
