Age of Empires 4 is set to go through another early testing stage. With the release being a little more than a month away, this will likely be the last chance for players to get their hands on the game before the official release.

After the closed beta which was held back in August, Relic has announced that they will be holding server stress testing for Age of Empires 4 this weekend. Relic stated that this round of testing would be available for all, in contrast to the early beta.

They want as many players as possible to have access as this will give them the most accurate information about the number of Age of Empires players their servers can handle in preparation for launch.

Release date and time for Age of Empires 4 Stress test

The technical stress test will be live on September 17th from 18:00 BST until 18:00 BST on September 20th via PC. This should allow all who want to participate in the test plenty of time to log on and give it a try.

How Can Players Access It

Access is available in two ways, the first via the Xbox Insider Hub application. Alternatively, players can go to the Age of Empires 4 steam page and sign up under the "playtest" section.

Players will have to keep in mind that their systems must meet the minimum required specifications. Although that is not a high bar to meet luckily.

What Will Be Available

In terms of the content available in the test, the main focus is on the multiplayer experience. Although you will be able to play against AI within custom lobbies, for players who are more interested in what they can get out of this game when playing it on their own.

In addition to this, the "Mission Zero" part of the game will be available, which is just the tutorial, though it will be very useful to have there for anyone who is having their first introduction to Age of Empires.

Abbasid Dynasty, Age of Empires 4

There will be four of the eight base game civilisations available for the stress test. The Chinese, English, Holy Roman Empire and Abbasid Dynasty will all be available to play. If players wish to discover more about the civilisations that aren't available in the test they can visit the Age of Empires 4 website.
