Earlier this year at PDXCON 2018 in Stockholm, Paradox Interactive announced Age of Wonders: Planetfall, an empire building game that takes the series into sci-fi territory. Recently, they shared a first look at some gameplay during a livestream with help from Triumph Studios, the game's developer.

Age of Wonders: Planetfall gives players the chance to build a future for their people after the dark age of a fallen empire. The game will be able to be played in a deep single-player campaign, on random maps, and against friends in multiplayer.

Paradox Interactive is joined by Triumph Studios' Lennart Sas for the livestream. Clocking in at over an hour, it covers the game right from the beginning with character creation and customization and goes on to show off scouting for resources, some of its tactical turn-based gameplay, and more. Towards the end of the livestream, they also answer some questions from players as well.

You can check out the full livestream of gameplay below or a shortened version from YouTube. Age of Wonders: Planetfall will be available for PC and consoles sometime next year.
