Aksys Games, in an email correspondence with Anime News Network, revealed that they would be releasing tons of new Otome games for the Nintendo Games in 2020. The company described the titles as including "old fan favorites and some new surprises." Hopefully the old fan favorites include ports of some of their past releases for PS4 and especially for PS Vita. Although I am intrigued to see what kind of brand new titles Aksys Games has in the works.

"Otome" describes an entire genre of story-based video games that is targeted towards women. Generally one of the goals, besides the main plot goal, is to develop a romantic relationship between the female player character and one of several male characters.

Last time the company made such an announcement was during their panel at Anime Expo 2017. Those games for PS4 and PS Vita included Sweet Fuse: At Your Side, Norn9, Bad Apple Wars, 7'scarlet, Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly, and Psychedelica of the Ashen Hawk otome games, as well as several games in the Hakuōki and Code: Realize otome franchises.

Aksys Games is also responsible for the 2018 release Little Dragons Café which, for those not in the know, follows a brother and sister as they raise a dragon in order to help heal their mother and run a restaurant at same time. There's also an adorable limited edition version of the game for both PS4 and Switch. And Aksys Games donated profits of the game's sales to charity.

If you want to get a better idea of how it plays, you can check out the first gameplay trailer or fifteen minutes of DualShockers’ own gameplay footage. We also have a review of the game here.

Their other 3DS title, Jake Hunter: Ghost of the Dusk, was slated to receive a western release back in 2017 but no news has come of it since then.
