Aksys Openly Supports Physical Media and Updates European Fans on Physical Releases in the Region

Aksys Games seemed to be excitingly updating their Twitter feed today about Spike Chunsoft and tri-Ace’s Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky that is set to release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita October 18.

After posting a photo of PlayStation 4 copies of the game, the publisher adds, “Digital is great and all, but physical will never die. We still wish all games came in cardboard boxes or CD jewel cases.”

In addition, when asked about whether their upcoming otome line-up of games will get the same treatment, they teased saying, “Yup, among others…”

Additionally, the publisher has been absent from retail shelves in Europe for some time with digital-only releases in the region. However, they add, “EU folks, we’re pushing to do physical releases in 2017. So, late to the party, yes, but working on it.”

With such a large group of the video game industry in support of a digital-only video game library, it’s good to see publishers that take a stance on preserving games on physical media.
