THQ Nordic, the Austrian video game publisher best known for publishing titles such as Destroy All Humans, Biomutant, Darksiders, and more, has made an offer to Remedy Entertainment to handle the physical release of Alan Wake 2.

During yesterday's PlayStation Showcase, Alan Wake fans were finally shown more footage from the upcoming sequel, Alan Wake 2. The visually impressive trailer also revealed a release date of October 17th, but fans were left outraged when Remedy Entertainment published a new FAQ for Alan Wake 2, revealing that the game will be a digital-only release.

In the FAQ, Remedy Entertainment cites multiple reasons as to why Alan Wake 2 will receive a digital-only release. Remedy says that "a large number of [users] have shifted to digital only," whilst also stating that this allows Alan Wake 2 to be priced at $59.99 / €59.99 on consoles and $49.99 / €49.99 on PC. Finally, the studio says it "did not want to ship a disc product and have it require a download for the game."

This quickly became a hot topic among fans, with many expressing their outrage at the decision. But it looks like THQ Nordic has now stepped in to offer a helping hand to Remedy Entertainment.

Taking to Twitter, the official THQ Nordic account not only pointed out that it actually published the disc version of Alan Wake for PC when it was first released but then said, "just because ONE person (or company) does not love physical, there is plenty who still do. Give it some thought. We'd love to go at it again! Full circle and all."

Of course, whether or not the publication of Alan Wake 2 by THQ Nordic would solve any of Remedy Entertainment's original issues is unknown. It's possible that the studio won't even address the offer, but its certainly given fans a glimmer of hope.
